Social Impacts of Community Power Webinar

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

Thursday, November 3rd – 10:00am-11:30am
Social Impacts of Community Power
Hosted in partnership with OSEA

The positive economic and environmental impacts of solar, wind, bioenergy and waterpower projects, once built and producing clean power, are often discussed. This webinar will shift the focus to the more personal and community-level impacts that are experienced throughout the process of realizing a local, community power project. Social impacts attributed to direct involvement in community power projects can include:  the formation of new organizations, acquiring new jobs and sector-specialized skills, start-up of entrepreneurial RE companies, development of new relationships, partnerships and perspectives.  Hear accounts of how involvement in RE projects has led to both predicted and unexpected experiences in Ontario and abroad.

Speakers Include:
Jutta Splettstoesser, Farmer, renewable energy project owner and advocate
Andrew Clark, General Manager of AgriSolar Co-operative, Ontario
Johan Hamels, Founder, Ecopower Co-operative, Belgium

This webinar is free to CEPP e-newsletter subscribers. Send an email to jgaudette at communityenergyprogram.ca to request the discount code.
