Evan Ferrari, Program Manager

Resource conservation has been part of Evan's life since founding a water-pumping windmill project in Tanzania in the 1970s. Later his business background led him to the photographic industry where he was a sales and marketing manager for a large film manufacturer. In the early 90’s he left the corporate world to get back to his environmental roots.

He has been the manager of a Green Community Initiative and held managerial and leadership positions in the fields of waste management, water conservation and energy conservation, including President of the WindShare Cooperative - owners of North America’s first urban windmill at Toronto’s Exhibition Place.

As the Director, Parks & Protected Areas for the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society - Wildlands League he took the lead for the environmental non-governmental-organization (eNGO) sector in creating Ontario’s new Parks Act in 2007.

Evan received the Governor General’s Canada 125 Award for his work on environmental initiatives.
